Whether it’s hiking, dining or driving, here are three things you shouldn’t miss this summer.

1/ Llama trekking in the Austrian Alps

Explore the Lech mountain region’s 350 km of hiking trails in the company of some wooly companions: on request, Hotel Aurelio will organize trekking tours with gentle, sure-footed llamas. Leading your own llama, it will carry everything needed for an exclusive picnic in the middle of the mountains. The 3 or 5 hour hikes let you explore the beauty of this otherwise skiing destination: lush alpine meadows in full bloom, lively wild waters and spectacular views. You can also opt for Lech’s own Inca trail, the 7 hour big lap from Oberlech up to the emerald green Butzensee lake.

En route make sure to look out for Antony Gormley’s Horizon Field: the art project, put together by the Kunsthaus Bregenz Museum features 100 life size human statues scattered over 150 sq km (58 sq miles) of High Alps.

2/ Sunday brunch on the river Neckar

Can’t make it down to Capri this summer? Don’t worry, just treat yourself to a short vacation in the idyllic Neckar valley and indulge in a maritime ambience far away from the Mediterranean coast.
