one night in… frankfurt

There are many reasons to go to Frankfurt. Here’s one you probably haven’t thought of yet.

With more skyscrapers than all other German cities combined, Frankfurt is the country’s financial hub. The city is also home to the world’s largest book fair. One thing Frankfurt is seldom considered as is a romantic weekend getaway. However, located only minutes from the central train station is a hotel just perfect for that intimate trip with your girlfriend/spouse/mistress/secretary/etc: Roomers, a member of Design Hotels™.roomers-hotel-051The brainchild of Gekko Management‘s Micky Rosen and Alex Urseanu, you might mistake it for a night club at first: past a valet who could equally work as a bouncer you step through a giant portal into a dark and sexy lobby.roomers-hotel-011It’s edgy, but with a sophisticated elegance: velvet fabrics, high polished steel, black parquet floors and dark wallpapers dominate. The click-clacking sound of high heels draws your attention to a lacquered fire place in the far corner. It’s the closest a hotel will ever come to a night club.roomers-hotel-031There is a fabulous bar (probably my favourite in Frankfurt), kinky and smoky, with black rubber coated chandeliers, discreet lighting, and excellent drinks (the G&T comes with Fentiman’s, not the usual cheap stuff), not to mention the adjacent restaurant. roomers-bar-021Rooms are also rather dark and sexy, and the chocolate covered strawberries on arrival add to the overall “inspiring” effect.roomers-zimmersuiten-02Equally fabulous is the roof top spa with its Japanese water massage beds, customised steam baths, and view over Frankfurt’s skyline. And should you really want to leave the hotel and take your special guest dancing, Gekko just happens to have a bar and a night club for you nearby.

I’ll doubt you’ll want to leave your room though. Spread the Roomers!
